Ugh, let me get this out of the way: I'm not liking only having enough to make 2 pages. X_X Oh well, Atari and I are gonna be making a mini-comic/ad about the Patreon, mainly to show off how much money we need to get back to 4 pages per month again, and, of course, getting up to 8 pages per month like I want to.

You know, Sam may be fighting an uphill battle here with convincing his friends that his business idea is actually sound, but I'm sure he's a lot more sound than politics these days. :I

Art (C) AtariBetch
The Rest (C) Someone who's pretty excited to see Stern finally ditching the monocolor DMD display for the new Batman '66 table. :D

I read a thing in a Seattle paper a few years ago where a reporter talked with owners of small independent coffee shops. The consensus among them was that if you're current on all your bills and can survive a couple slow months, having a certain rather large chain move in next to you is good for business.

Supposedly the chain shop will attract a lot of attention and long lines, and then people will get tired of waiting in those long lines (or just be in too much of a hurry) and try your shop and taste coffee that isn't burnt, and then they don't go to the chain shop anymore - they come to you instead.

(I cannot comment on this personally as I don't care for coffee.)

Yup, that's why Gene gave Sam enough money to give a building TLC/equipment/food and drink stock, and enough money left over to survive a few slow months. :P

Hopefully Sam has a game plan here.

Worst scenario: Sam starts his business and then 2 Starbucks come in next to him. "WHY STARBUCKS?! DON'T YOU ALREADY HAVE A MILLION OF THOSE SHOPS?!"

Not sure there would be 2 BigBucks, but I'm sure there'd be one next door or across the street.

First off, sorry to hear about your situation. Did your backers give any reasons for dropping their support?

I can't help financially, but if you're aiming for increased exposure to your comic, perhaps I could recommend also uploading Moonlit Brew on a public free to read manga website like Mangafox. Sites like Mangafox have a lot of Net traffic for people wanting to read scanlations of Japanese/Korean/Chinese manga, but I've seen some Western webcomics being uploaded there. From there, hopefully the readers there will be guided to go to your main website and donate from there.

Hi, and thanks. Hopefully, things will pick up soon. X_X

Anyway, I have uploaded the comic to various sites (DA, FA, Line Webtoon, Tapastic, and GMI Manga). Someone wrote a note to me over on DA about translating the comic to Chinese, but I haven't heard back since then. ^^;

I've linked to my Patreon on practically every one of those sites, so I'm not quite sure what's been going on. :( But yeah, again, hopefully things will get better soon.

Your choice of sites aren't bad, but I think you may need to spread the net even wider to cover manga readers/weebs, who may not frequent the sites you uploaded Moonlit Brew to. Try see if you can upload to a manga site like Batoto to get their attention.

I'm a member of the Animesuki forums, a anime/manga discussion website - I could set up a discussion post on Moonlit Brew together with links to try get the other forum members interested. There are some discussions of Asian webmangas there which have quite a following - of course, those are usually fighting/romance/ecchi(naughty) series.
There are some who may question when the werewolf fighting and mystery will come into play - just to let you know.

If you're OK with me recommending Moonlit Brew to the Animesuki crowd, let me know and I'll do it.

PS. Try recontact that potential Chinese translator - otherwise see if you can reach out to any other language translators interested in the series!

We'll see; uploading to just those sites I mentioned takes a lot of time, and I have to resize them manually on Photoshop just for Line and Tapastic. ^^;

Anyway, yeah, go ahead and link the comic to Animesuki; it'd be interesting to see if any new people show up. :)

Next time I get the chance, I'll try to give your comic a shoutout in an appropriate spot.

That might not be for a while, though.

That's fine; I appreciate the support. :)
